I Chales Malaya I am currently reside in Monaghan. I am originally from Pemba, Mozambique Africa I belong to the famous African tribe of artisans, the Makonde Makonde are world renowned for their wood carving. The tradition of wood carving has been passed down to me through generations of wood carvers.I am built on the Makonde traditional style of wood carving to develop are unique contemporary interpretation of Makonde culture. And my wish is to represent mysterious world of rites and tradition of Makonde tribe through wood carving.
